Because that’s where everyone who manages people is at today. At this very minute – someone is thinking about a candidate for a job – does that person have the talent to do this particular job with excellence? Do they have potential that can be developed or enhanced in this role? Can they be part of our organization’s future state? Can they engage our customers and/or their team? And, do I as a senior leader have a manager who can help them unleash that talent by investing in them?
Isn’t that what keeps us up at night? At the end of the day all of the business questions that keep leaders walking the halls simply come down to people.
