Talent Plus Supports 2010 National Special Olympic Games

For the third year in a row, Freedom Fest, an annual company event that commences with one of the largest private fireworks shows in the state of Nebraska, was scaled down so that Talent Plus can focus on an important non-profit cause. This year, in lieu of a larger community event, Freedom Fest was celebrated by Talent Plus associates and their families so that Talent Plus can support the Special Olympic athletes from across the country who will be competing in Lincoln, Nebraska a
t the 2010 USA National Special Olympic Games.

In honor of each Freedom Fest guest, Talent Plus has made a financial contribution to the 2010 USA National Special Olympic Games. In addition to the financial support, 31 Talent Plus associates will be volunteering 320 hours during the weeklong Games. Talent Plus is a Founders Club sponsor of the 2010 Special Olympics, which will run from July 18-23, 2010, in venues across the city.

The 2010 Special Olympics USA National Games in Lincoln, Nebraska, will unite the country through sport and serve as a living legacy of founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver. These Games will provide an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the Special Olympics movement and athletes, while illustrating the power of sports to educate and inform about the true abilities and achievements of people with intellectual disabilities. While providing opportunities for all to get involved, the USA National Games will present a nationwide platform to engage youth as “agents of change” to foster and promote unity, inclusion, acceptance, respect, dignity and advocacy for people with intellectual disabilities.

Everyone at Talent Plus hopes you took a moment this Independence Day to reflect upon the sacrifices others have made so that we can live in a country which celebrates its freedom. While Talent Plus scaled down Freedom Fest’s entertainment this year, their donation in honor of our Freedom Fest guests will provide support for the athletes competing in the 2010 USA National Special Olympic Games.
